Finding Your Er0tic Truth (lecture)

Recorded in 2021 for the senior students at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit Michigan. My goal was to reassure the students that, whatever they're into, they are normal and don't need to worry about it; present a multitude of approaches to making er0tic art, a brief history of the genre, and placing my own journey making this work in a wider cultural context. I ask the student to consider their own fantasies and how they might communicate them visually. Finally, I explore the distinction between er0tic art that may be transgressive but is expressed at great personal risk to the artist, and er0tic art that serves only to reinforce the status quo at no personal risk to the artist making it.
